PHILOSOPHY
Andover Photo is one of the few remaining old-time
camera specialty stores. When it comes to things photographic (or
"images") we are the place to come to. Not only do we stock most
of the things you will ask for, we know where to get what we dont
stock, and we are glad to show you how these products work.
As enthusiastic photographers ourselves, we appreciate the value of the
photographic memories you bring to us for copies, enlargements, cropping,
etc.. We can point you in the right equipment direction if you want to
start making memories for tomorrow. While we show you, and put in your
hands to touch and feel several choices, we do our best to draw out what
you are trying to accomplish, how deeply you want to get involved in
photography (the f-stops, depth of field, shutter speeds, etc.,) and what
your budget is. The "touch & feel" process is one you do not
find at a mass merchant or "on the Net." If we think another
store carrying more or different brands would better fit your needs, we do
not hesitate to say so. It is your long-term business we look for, not
just the initial sale.
Where do we find these "enthusiastic photographers?" One of
the many beautiful things about photography is that you can learn to do it
well. Talent you are born with always helps, but you still have to check
out the equipment and techniques. When looking for new store help, the
major qualifications we seek are a love of photography and common sense.
We can usually teach the rest, though there is always a surprising number
of things for us all to learn.
We build our business on your pleasant, mutually-fulfilling shopping
experience. We want you to come back again, and we want you to anticipate
your next visit with pleasure. We also try to foresee your needs, such as
our recent additions of Advanced Photo System processing, digital cameras,
and special equipment to manufacture CDs on site.

HISTORY
In 1970 Andover
Photo began operating in Andover. Things certainly have changed. Now hardly anyone buys enlargers to
do home darkroom work. Many of the larger photo industry leaders have
changed focus, branching out into areas that have nothing to do with
photography. Andover Photo processes on site, and continues to grow to
meet the ever changing demands of photo takers.
Over the years
Andover Photo has been on the cutting edge of technology. Andover Photo was one of the
first camera stores in the Merrimack Valley to put in its own processing lab. There were
wholesale labs, but mini labs as we know them did not exist. Five years
ago we updated our equipment to a new scanning technology which makes even
better prints. We now make 4x6 size prints as our normal size. Two years
ago we purchased a special machine to do enlargements. We can make sizes
up to 12x18 in our store. Three years ago we added the Kodak Picture maker
digital
imaging station. Our continuing success comes from being photography
professionals, always using the latest technology available, with the care
and concern for each print that we are famous for.

WHY CHOOSE ANDOVER PHOTO? We
have many customers that come in and tell us how much their friends like
their photos. The friends ask, "what kind of camera were the pictures
taken with?" The secret is not in the camera, but in the photo
finishing. We pride ourselves on rich, saturated prints using premium
quality processing paper, using the brightest and most durable papers available.
Unlike machine processing, our experts hand inspect each and every print.
They carefully handle your negatives with gloves and place them in plastic
sleeves for protection. We do everything we can to give you the best
prints possible. Don't keep us a secret! Tell your friends to come to
Andover Photo so their pictures can look great, too!
Andover Photo is Andover's only full service
